Dr. Barbara Goldman

Barbara Goldman is nationally recognized for successfully directing 15 large-scale, multi-site random assignment evaluations; developing innovative research designs, including differential impact studies; setting up systems to assure that ransom assignment designs are successfully implemented; conducting process, impact, and benefit-cost analyses; and writing numerous reports. Dr. Goldman currently plays a senior management role on the SHM project. As the Project Director and Co-Principle Investigator for the National Evaluation of Welfare-to-Work Strategies (NEWWS), Dr. Goldman guided the largest study of welfare-to-work programs. She is also leading the Employment Retention and Advancement (ERA) project, a multi-site test of programs designed to promote employment stability and wage progression among low-income workers, as well as the Enhanced Services for the Hard-to-Employ (HtE) project, both funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Dr. Goldman holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the American University.
